Double L Footed Finned Tube is produced in same way as the 'L' type finned tube but has a wider fin base which is overlapped during the winding process, thereby giving excellent corrosion resistance.
These offer better coverage of the base tube. However, because they are more expensive (about 10-15%) than single L-footed fined tubes, they are preferred only in extremely corrosive atmospheres. The upper limit on process-fluid inlet temperatures for these finned tubes is 170℃.
Same as L foot fin, extruded fin, KL Fin Tube and Embedded G Fin, double L footed fin are primarily used in air-cooled applications such as large radiators, compressor oil coolers, and other forced-draft or induced-draft air-cooled applications.
The following charts are common L footed finned tube configurations
Tube OD | 5/8’’, 3/4’’, 1’’, 1-1/4’’ and 1-1/2’’ |
Fin Height | 3/8’’, 7/16’’, 1/2’’ and 5/8’’ |
Fin Type | Solid |
Fin Thickness | 0.014’’ to 0.016’’ |
Number of fins | 8 to 12 fins per inch |
Fin Material | Aluminum 1100 and Copper |
Tube Material | Carbon Steel, Stainless steel or brass, titanium (Any material is OK) |
Tube Length | No limit |
Application/use of double L Footed Finned Tube: air cooler, heat exchanger, air heater, economizer.
