Seamless carbon steel tubes have a hollow cross-section and are widely used as pipes for transporting fluids, such as pipes for transporting oil, natural gas, gas, water, and certain solid materials. Compared with solid steel such as round steel, the steel pipe is lighter in weight when the bending and torsional strength is the same. It is an economical cross-section steel and is widely used in the manufacture of structural parts and mechanical parts, such as oil drill pipes, automobile transmission shafts, and bicycles. Frames and steel scaffolds used in construction, such as steel scaffolds, are used to make ring parts with steel pipes, which can improve the utilization rate of materials, simplify the manufacturing process, save materials and processing hours, and have been widely used in steel pipes.
The seamless carbon steel tube is derived from solid steel that is in sheet or bar form and then formed into a solid round shape known as “billets” which are then heated and cast over a form such as piercing rod to create a hollow tube or shell. The abbreviation of seamless steel pipe is SMLS pipe.
