As one of the most important components in the field of heat transfer, fin tubes are widely used in various industrial and commercial fields. It has the advantages of improving the heat exchange area and increasing the heat transfer efficiency, which play the key role in many heat exchange systems. Here is a question, how to choose the material of finned tubes. As we all know, select the apposite material is critical to the system's performance and durability. Here I'd like to show some common material of our finned tubes.
Aluminum
1. Features
(1) Thermal conductivity: aluminum has good conductivity of thermal and can conduct heat effectively which makes fin tubes have a higher heat transfer efficiency.
(2) Lightweight and corrosion-resistant: aluminum is lightweight and has good corrosion resistance. For some scenes which need lightweight and corrosion resistance material, aluminum fin is an ideal choice.
(3) Low cost: compared with copper and stainless steel, the cost of aluminum is lower, which suitable for projects with limited budgets.
2. Application
Aluminum fin tube is widely used in air conditioning systems/air coolers/ car radiators... ...
In low temperature and general working environments, the thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance of aluminum will totally meet the needs.
3. Common Aluminum Material
Aluminum Al1050
Aluminum Al1060
Aluminum Al1100
Aluminum Al3003
Aluminum Al6063
Copper
1. Features
(1) Thermal conductivity: Copper made fin can conduct heat effictivily and improve the heat transfer efficiency;
(2) Corrosion resistance: copper has good resistance to corrosion, so can be used in some corrosion media environment
(3) Higher cost: compared with aluminum, the cost of copper is higher
2. Applications:
Copper made fin tube is widely used in industrial fields such as oil&gas/cooling/electricity, etc.
Due to its perfect thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance, fins made of copper usually be applied in high temperature, high pressure and corrosive media heat transfer.
3. Common Copper Material
C 12200
C 14200
C 70600
CuNi 70/30
CuNi 90/10
